Sean Alford

Sean has devoted his career to navigating digital transformation across the technology, media and communications sectors.  As Managing Partner of Shoal Harbor Capital, Sean is responsible for investment strategy, sourcing, transaction execution and portfolio management.  He also serves as a member of the firm’s investment committee.

Prior to Shoal Harbor Capital, Sean was Executive Vice President, Corporate Development and Strategy at Ziff Davis (Nasdaq: ZD).  In this role, he was responsible for building and leading strategic planning, mergers and acquisitions, capital markets transactions and stakeholder engagement for Ziff Davis and its portfolio of businesses. Under Sean’s leadership, the Ziff Davis M&A program completed over 60 transactions, representing over $4.0 billion of value.

Previously, Sean co-founded an investment fund – Beachfront Wireless – focused on wireless spectrum. He started his career as an attorney at Proskauer Rose in New York City, where he was a member of the firm’s Sports Group and Technology, Media & Telecommunications practice.  He has also worked at Comcast in the NBC Sports Group.

Sean received undergraduate (BSBA) and graduate (JD/MBA) degrees from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
